UCL, or University College London, is one of the top universities in the world.
This was a 6 week project with a team consisting of myself & a UX Designer on full-time & a PM, Researcher & another Designer helping out part-time.
We were asked to work on a 'blue sky' project as to what the app could look like in 5 years time without any technological restrictions to hold creativity back.

Prior to the UCL Enablers project, I was part of the retained UCL team and had been previously working on their desk-booking app.
This meant we had already been through many rounds of interviews and knew roughly what the students & teachers wanted.
We did not perform any user testing in this project due to the previous insights and the fact it was only supposed to be a concept to gain buy-in.
This also meant that we already had a pretty well built-out design system to go off, in the end it was more used for inspiration as we were allowed to update as we went along.
We then needed to decide on which features were the most important to show to the client.
Given that this was a short-term project, we needed to prioritise what we could create in such a small amount of time.(apologies for the picture quality, I don't have access anymore!)
We created user journeys that also included design inspirations for each page and step.
Due to the excellent onboarding idea (thought up by my fantastic UX partner ♥) we could show areas and ideas for the app without having to go into too much details as this was purely a concept to show how it could potentially be.
We could now get begin the design process, starting with the wireframes.
The wireframes started at a low/mid-fi level as we already had parts of the design system.
The onboarding experience was inspired by Monzo, known for their user friendly application & onboarding - an app I often reference in design.
We went through a few transitions from low-fi to hi-fi but I won't bore with you with the minor changes.
The whole onboarding has a progress stepper to guide the user through the journey.
